With the end of the holidays and the summer, surely there are many and many, who have gotten on the scale and unfortunately have seen how the needle has risen… The caps and alcohol have taken their toll. And here is the problem for many… wanting to control what they drink because, yes, all prescription drinks have calories. Some more and some less. But you have to be careful what you drink.
In fact, the problem with alcoholic beverages is that you can think that, being liquid, they are not as fattening as they really are. And, in fact, they are the well-known empty calories. They do not contribute anything and without realizing it, you are adding calories or it is what does not make you lose weight, even if you are eating healthy.
Let’s see, a little more clearly what drinks are the ones with the fewest calories and given that you want to drink them, they make you less fat. Always do it in moderation and of course, it is always good to treat yourself, but if you want not to gain weight, better drink other types of drinks.
Instructions
- Before going directly to mention which are the most caloric alcoholic beverages, you have to know the reason why they are fattening and/or have so many calories. The reason? These drinks always have a high calorie content that, as we have already mentioned, are called or known as “empty”. This basically means that it contributes absolutely nothing to the body except having many or many degrees of alcohol.
- Another very important factor to also take into account is the amount of sugars they contain. In general, this fact is still quite unknown to many people. They believe that by not eating sugar (food) they are already avoiding it. But they do not know, that by drinking certain alcoholic beverages, they are eating and putting sugar in their bodies that will surely double or triple the amount that they could consume as food.
- One of the most consumed beverages is wine and beer. The key question: Which of the two is less fattening? Well, we are sorry to tell you that beer, although it may not seem like it, is much more fattening than wine(besides, it also swells). There is also no need to get drastic and dramatic. As in everything, if consumed in moderation, it does not have to be bad. But if you are on a diet or taking care of yourself, it is interesting that you know.
- The wine. Wine is one of the alcoholic beverages that contain the fewest calories. But there are also small exceptions. For example, do not go overboard with the drinks. A small glass is acceptable, but if you drink half a bottle at lunch or dinner, you are putting calories into your body in the most “stupid” way.
- The trick to know what type of wine is less fattening is to know what its fermentation is. If it is a dry, semi-dry, sweet, semi-sweet wine, etc.
- Of the least caloric beverages, cider is the least caloric. In addition, being apple contains fruit vitamins.
- Wine, as we have already mentioned, although it is less caloric than other alcoholic beverages, has its calories. But if we have to choose between a red wine, a white wine and a rosé wine, the red will always have fewer calories and then it would be the rosé. Finally, the white wine would be placed on the podium. It is not that it is excessively caloric, but it has less than, for example, those already mentioned or even some cocktails (which we will also mention below).
- Cava or its “Deluxe” version, champagne, is not one of the most caloric either. In fact, it has fewer calories than a white wine (and fewer carbohydrates).
- Those that are considered as caloric bombs and that later, are not so much, are the ones that surely, you have taken the most this summer.
- The ranking of those with fewer calories (a normal drink) would be the Bloody Mary(the main ingredient that is healthy, the tomato, also has an influence), with less than 150 calories.
- It would be followed by another of the star cocktails of the summers, the mojito and the daiquiri. With less than 150 calories also both.
- The Cosmopolitan and the margaritas are not bad either, because, although they have more calories than the previous ones, none of them still reach two hundred calories for less than one hundred milliliters. And the star cocktail, the mojito, don’t panic. If it is not loaded too much with alcohol, it is not one of the most caloric drinks.
- And one thing that not many take into account is that just in case you know a little about nutrition or calories or a nutritionist or dietitian guides your diet, there are alcoholic beverages that greatly influence depending on what type of diet. We explain it a little better. It is not the same, a diet where the calories and the amounts that are ingested are being reduced, to a soft diet, a protein diet, etc. In the case of the latter, where carbohydrates are prohibited or rescinded a lot (to a minimum) and protein is emphasized, there are some drinks that have a lot of carbohydrates. So, in this case, the problem would be twofold.
- Those that may have a higher alcohol content, but have fewer carbohydrates are among others: cognac, whiskey, brandy, rum, tequila, vodka, etc.
- Always keep in mind that it is worth controlling what you eat. In the event that you do not want or are tired of drinking water (it will always be the best option, healthy and without calories), there are other very valid alternatives that, in addition, do not have calories. For example: soda, teas, siphon, sparkling water (less recommended than mineral water because of the gas that swells, but valid), natural lemonade that is squeezed, coffee… and even mineral water or with gas, but giving it a twist with natural flavorings. Such as mint leaves, orange peel, lemon zest, cucumber slices, some fruit… it’s all about thinking about the healthiest options.
- Think about how that type of alcoholic beverage is made. That is, think about fermentation or elaboration. The origin is distillery? Well, banish it because it will have a lot of calories. Instead, it is made from fruit, for example? The wines, which are made from grapes, and the cider, which, in this case, is made from apples. Therefore, much healthier and fewer calories.
What do you need
- Wine and beer will always be the most suitable drinks with fewer calories.
- Think about the fermentation of drinks to know if they are more or less caloric.
- Be careful what other drinks alcohols are mixed with. Sometimes the combinations are almost worse.
Tips
Of course, that these drinks are, comparing them with others, with mixed cocktails, mixes, etc. It does not mean that they are not fattening, that they do not have calories or that they can or should be consumed in diets or to keep in shape. It is always advisable in diets and for obvious and logical reasons, not to consume alcohol if you really want to lose weight.
Given the choice, wine (we have already mentioned which ones are more or less caloric) or even beer, cider or cava, are the most acceptable. Always better than a cognac or a cocktail with vodka and sugary drinks.
Beware of these various combinations and mixtures; in fact, they are the worst. Not because of the alcohol (which all adds up) but because most of the combinations are made with carbonated drinks, sugary drinks, juices full of sugar… they are the least healthy and recommended alternatives for a diet.
